Douc langur handed over to the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park

The Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in the central Quang Binh province has received a douc langur from a local resident. The mammal, with the scientific name Pygathrix nemaeus, is listed as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

The population of large flying foxes (Pteropus vampyrus) living in the southern Ca Mau Province is facing depletion in its numbers. The Provincial Forest Protection Department has found that there are only about 2,000 large flying foxes in Ca Mau now, which is about one-tenth of the population in 2006.
