Ba Ria – Vung Tau, november 14th 2018 – NS BlueScope Vietnam, in collaboration with Ba Ria – Vung Tau Industrial Zone Authority (BIZA) announced the initiation of labor hygiene safety awareness and management sharing program in enterprises targeted at improving local enterprises’ awareness on labor hygiene safety for the sake of a non-occupational-incident workplace. The launching ceremony welcomed the presence of representatives from BIZA, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Labor Federation, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, local Branch of Labor Hygiene Safety Department as well as other related organizations and businesses.

   The planned program is designed to incorporate a series of workshops centering on vital issues during the course of labor hygiene safety management in enterprises: A specialized workshop on “the role of enterprise managers in labor hygiene safety and fire prevention” to further discuss how to establish corporate safety culture, efficient model for safety management, identifying and controlling potential safety risks, safety checking and testing, multi-asset risk system (MARS); A field trip to Phu My I factory in Ba Ria – Vung Tau specific for corporate managerial levels to learn from NS BlueScope Vietnam’s labor safety model; And workshops in combination with factory tours focusing on sharing risk management knowledge for highly-risky occupations such as those supposed to access energy sources, labor safety for tasks carried out above the ground, fire and explosion prevention for staff directly involved.

   Mr. Vo Minh Nhut, Country President, NS BlueScope Vietnam said: “Backed by our Group’s history and practices of safety management across globally large-scaled factories, we put a particular focus on executing labor hygiene safety procedure in every course of production and assembly. We regularly organize labor safety training courses for internal staff and workers, holding occupational contests as well as investing in training centers to keep improving employees’ awareness of labor safety. As initiating the labor hygiene safety awareness and management sharing program in enterprises in Vietnam, we expect to improve business awareness of labor safety, thereby, support the sustainable development of businesses.”
